The Guild of Queer Early Modernists (GQEM) is a scholarly organization dedicated to the promotion, support, and furtherance of queer scholars and scholars of queerness in early modern studies. We are committed to increasing the diversity of early modern studies, and creating a more equitable field. We do this by:
- Building mentorship and support opportunities,
- Bringing together the vibrant community of queer scholars in early modern studies, and;
- Promoting queer scholarship.
This organization is by and for queer people in the field of early modern studies, very broadly defined. We are an intersectional organization supporting experts across a range of fields and identities. Allies are invited to join and support our organization!
